Chyyyy... Glowgetters, sit down, because Saturday night in Studio 8H came with a plot twist. Per NBC News, Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance on "Saturday Night Live," joining her friend and the episode's host, Dakota Johnson, for some laughs. Billboard reports that the cameo happened during Johnson's opening monologue.

Here's the setup. Per The Wrap, Johnson joked she was "looking for a third" after two very public breakups, a reference to her splits from Coldplay's Chris Martin and Role Model's Tucker Pillsbury. According to Yahoo, she then introduced "my literal therapist," and Swift walked out to screams from the crowd.

Swift was not here to accept the title. Deadline reports she opened with the quote below.

"I'm not your therapist actually." — Taylor Swift, per Deadline

According to The Wrap, Swift said Johnson shows up once a week with an empty bottle of wine and asks if she wants some. The Wrap also reports Swift said Johnson overshares on her couch, and that she ends the night by handing over a Pedialyte and sending Johnson home with her security. Honestly, that's the most relatable friendship I've ever heard about. We all have a friend who treats our living room like a confessional.

Now, TheWrap's headline calls this "breakup advice." Glowgetters, it was a roast with a hydration plan. The Wrap says Swift stood supportively beside Johnson while Johnson defended her taste in musicians as a "public service." That's love, even if it came with sass.

Swift also got a nod to her husband. Per Billboard, Johnson's mention of Cleveland, a wink at Travis Kelce's roots, got a "Woo-woo!" out of Swift. Sir, you were not even in the building and you still got mentioned.

The friendship has a backstory. Billboard reports the two appeared together weeks ago in the video for "Patient Zero," which Swift directed and co-starred in. Deadline adds that Swift came back at the end of the show with a birthday cake for Johnson, who turns 37 on Sunday.

So she crashed the monologue, then came back with cake. That's a friend who knows how to make an entrance and an exit.

Developing — we're watching this one.

Morgan's verdict

"Taylor Swift: not your therapist, but she'll absolutely bring the Pedialyte and a cake."
