The President Is Promising You $5,000. Baby, Read The Fine Print. — Glowgetters, VOTE

Chyyyy... so the president hopped on our feeds from behind the Resolute Desk — flags up, watermark on, midterms loading — and asked the whole country to "pretend I'm on the ballot." Baby... I don't have to pretend. For the Glowgetters, this election has been about him since day one.
And I'll say this straight: I need you to vote in the OPPOSITE direction of that video. Let me tell you why.
THE VIDEO. His pitch: "This is one of the most important elections of our lives." He's pushing his "Swamp the Vote" site — the "swap the vote" thing floating around your group chats, same one, one letter apart — telling people to vote early, by mail, or in person on Election Day, November the third. And he closed with the line he just can't quit: a win "too big to rig."
"So I'm not on the ballot, but pretend I am." — Donald Trump, in his midterm video
Well, sir... I don't have to pretend.
THE $5,000. On September 9th, the president promised every adult citizen a $5,000 dividend — IF the Republicans keep control of the House AND the Senate on November 3rd. Spendable in America only, he said. And Glowgetters, the second I heard it, I went and read the fine print so you don't have to.
THE FINE PRINT. The math, per Reuters, Politico and PBS: roughly 240 million adults means the check costs about $1.2 TRILLION — more than the entire annual defense budget, more than Medicare. The tariff money doesn't come close to covering it, so it's new debt. And it's not his money to give: Congress controls the spending, the Senate needs 60 votes to pass it, and there is no 60-vote coalition in the Senate today. Legal experts even walked through whether promising checks to voters is a crime — they landed on "probably not," because it's pitched at everybody, not at individual voters. So: not illegal. Just... not real. A promise with four impossible steps attached.
THE TRACK RECORD. And this is promise number THREE. The $5,000 "DOGE dividend"? Never came. The $2,000 "tariff dividend" from last November? Never came. The only checks that ever landed came from Congress passing a bill — not from a social media video.
"5K won't change your life — but another four with this administration will." — Morgan Chanel
Because let's be honest about the math they're really doing. Five thousand dollars is three months of groceries and a month of rent in most Glowgetter cities. Four more years of THIS is higher prices, borrowed money dressed up as a giveaway, and a country that keeps voting against its own mailbox. They are not promising you $5,000. They're asking you to rent them your VOTE for $5,000 — a check that needs a Republican Congress and 60 Senate votes to ever exist.
Your vote is worth more than a promise. So spend it like it.
THE ASK. No wriggle room, Glowgetters: I'm voting Democratic up and down the ballot on November 3rd, and I'm asking every single one of you to do the same. Not because the Democrats are perfect — I've never met a perfect politician — but because checks and balances only work when somebody holds the pen back, and right now that pen is writing checks your grandkids will owe.
THE PRACTICAL PART (because we're not just cute, we're ORGANIZED): check that you're registered TODAY at vote.org or usa.gov/voting. Every state's rules are different — some registration deadlines hit WEEKS before Election Day. If your state has early voting, do not wait. Vote early, vote by mail, or vote in person November 3rd. Take your people with you — the group chat, the cousins, the coworker who "keeps forgetting."
And THAT'S the flex they can't buy: a Glowgetter turnout too big to pretend away.
Meet me at the bottom of this page and tell me I'm wrong — but vote FIRST.
Morgan's verdict
"The $5,000 is a promise that needs Congress, a 60-vote Senate, and your silence. Your vote is a fact that needs five minutes and a stamp-free mailbox. November 3rd: vote Democratic, down the ballot — and let the checks bounce behind us."
