Glowgetters — FREE DURK. And before anybody types "he's guilty" in the comments: THE JURY DISAGREED. On September 11, after a trial right here in Los Angeles, a federal jury acquitted Durk Banks of EVERY count — all five. And yet, as I type this, my man is still in federal custody. So no, "Free Durk" is not a hashtag today, baby — it's a FILING. Docket 756-1, filed Monday in U.S. v. Durk Banks, Case No. 24-cr-621-MWF — and the desk pulled the actual court documents so you don't have to imagine what's in them.

THE STACK. The new bond package is not a vibe, it's a FORTRESS: Durk pledges ALL of his future income — royalties, publishing, touring, his name, his image, his likeness — to the court. Sony Music's General Counsel, Stephanie Yu, put it in writing: "Sony Music Entertainment is prepared to guarantee an appearance bond for Mr. Banks up to an amount of $1,000,000," and agreed his "future earnings" may be "forfeited... toward the bond." Family property is pledged too — including the home his mother lives in. The defense's argument, in one line: flee on this stack and Durk's people are left "destitute" and "penniless." Chyyy, that's not a bond, that's a LEASH.

THE JAY LETTER. Shawn Carter wrote Judge Fitzgerald his own self — Roc Nation letterhead, October 12 — and the desk needs you to read it in his voice: Durk was "kind, respectful and focused on his career," and "genuinely curious about deepening his spirituality... not something he wore for show." And THIS is the part that matters: "Durk was signing young artists from his community to recording contracts and giving them a real path into a legitimate industry." Jay's closer is the whole argument: "a jury found him not guilty. That verdict deserves weight." Plus the math: "nearly two years in custody with his remaining trial not set to begin until August 2027."

THE COLE LETTER. Jermaine Cole — the "middle child of hip hop" — told the judge the "All My Life" story: he asked Durk to send a RAWER option because the song was "too positive" for him, "but instead of agreeing with me, he doubled down" — Durk wanted "a message of change and of peace and of growth and maturity," and "more importantly to the kids." The song went 4X platinum and won Durk his FIRST GRAMMY. But Cole's heaviest lines came from Cleveland: while visiting the Juvenile Detention Center on tour, "the most asked about person from nearly every one of those kids that day was Lil Durk." He signed it "God bless, Jermaine Cole." That letter is Exhibit B, baby — in the actual filing.

THE LETTER NOBODY SAW COMING. And THIS is the one that stopped the desk COLD. Exhibit A is dated September 28, 2026, and it's from Andrea Robinson — the mother of Saviay'a Robinson, the 24-year-old killed in that 2022 Los Angeles shooting the whole first case was built around. Her letter, word for word: "On behalf of the family of Saviay'a Robinson, we do not object to Durk Banks being granted a bond if it is deemed appropriate by the Honorable Court." Read it again. The mother at the center of this whole tragedy told the federal judge: I will not stand in the way. The desk will not pretend to know what that letter cost her to write — but we see it, and we honor it. THAT is grace under a weight most of us will never carry.

THE REST OF THE STACK. Kimberly Foxx — two terms as Cook County State's Attorney — wrote that Durk "spent nearly two years in custody awaiting that trial, on charges the jury rejected," that the new charges came "more than a year and a half after he was taken into custody," and that given his acquittal "he should be released on reasonable conditions." Michael Rubin's letter says Durk performed at the REFORM Alliance inaugural event that raised more than $20 MILLION and was "one of the first people to call me" when Fanatics ran its 2023 March Madness drive for underserved kids. And Andre Norman — Harvard Law School fellow, 27 years deep in this work — personally promised the judge he'll mentor Durk if he's released, and "hold him accountable to every condition the Court sets." That's Exhibits C through G, Glowgetters. The desk counted them ALL.

WHY HE'S STILL IN THERE. Here's the timeline: arrested October 2024. Tried THIS September. Acquitted on all five counts on September 11. The superseding indictment on the SEVERED racketeering and firearms counts came in JUNE — and the new trial isn't until AUGUST 30, 2027. That's nearly two years in custody with the next trial ten months away. The bond hearing is TUESDAY, November 4 at 2:30 p.m., and per the press reporting, the government is expected to FIGHT it — against a $1 million Sony guarantee, his mother's house, and THIS letter stack.

MORGAN'S TAKE: "I know what the allegations were. And I know what the jury said: NOT GUILTY. On everything. So the question isn't 'why free Durk' — it's 'what exactly is the government holding him FOR?' The woman they were supposedly getting justice for wrote to the judge herself: we do not object. If THIS — the acquittal, the mom's blessing, a million in Sony paper, Jay-Z and J. Cole on the letterhead — isn't enough to let him sleep at home until 2027, then somebody tell me what 'presumed innocent' is actually FOR. FREE DURK. Tuesday, 2:30. The desk is watching."

THE FINE PRINT. All letters quoted verbatim from the public court filing, U.S. v. Durk Banks, Case No. 2:24-cr-00621-MWF (C.D. Cal., Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald), Document 756-1, filed Oct 27, 2026 — Exhibit A: Andrea Robinson (Sept 28), B: Jermaine "J. Cole" Cole, C: Michael G. Rubin, D: Shawn "JAY-Z" Carter (Oct 12), E: Kimberly M. Foxx (Oct 19), F: Sony Music's Stephanie Yu (Sept 14), G: Andre Norman (Oct 25). Per Rolling Stone, Complex and Los Angeles Magazine: Durk was acquitted on all five counts on Sept 11, 2026, after a jury trial in the Central District of California; the superseding indictment on the severed racketeering and firearms counts was returned in June 2026; the remaining trial is set for Aug 30, 2027 at 8:30 a.m.; the bond review hearing is Nov 4, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. — the government is expected to oppose (press reporting, not the court's word). "We do not object" is not an endorsement — quote Mrs. Robinson exactly as she wrote it. The remaining charges are ALLEGATIONS; Durk Banks is presumed innocent. Glowgetters, the group chat is OPEN: team "FREE DURK — sign the bond, your honor," team "read the superseding indictment first, then we talk," or team "the mom's letter broke me." Come argue with me.
